One History, Bold Stories.

The Halley historical record presented here draws on contemporary trade publications, later specialist historical research — including the two-part Halley history published in Old Motor in 1977 — and family-held archive material. Major factual claims are cross-checked against contemporary sources wherever available.

The final chapter of the original undertaking

Documented in the contemporary trade press.

By the mid-1930s, the original Halley business had entered its final phase. Contemporary trade reports record a winding-up resolution in 1935 and the acquisition of the Yoker works by Albion Motors Ltd.

Period reporting further records the subsequent disposal of the former business through George Cohen Sons & Company Ltd., including goodwill, plant, machinery, stocks and vehicles in course of manufacture, while the land and buildings remained outside that disposal.

Together, these sources document the break-up and disposal of the original Halley undertaking as an operating vehicle manufacturer.
